Rest and Relaxation
Situated approximately 8 miles from the picturesque fishing village of Carradale, in the heart of Kintyre the cottage is ideally placed to explore the Kintyre Peninsula and the surrounding Islands of Gigha, Islay, Jura and Arran.
A private stretch of the Carradale River is only 50 yards from your doorstep and is a great place to sit in the evening and perhaps glimpse an Otter or Heron fishing in its waters.
Carradale bay with its stunning views across the Sound of Arran and its wide stretch of sandy beach is only a 10 minute drive away and is perfect for walks on the beach and swims in its shallow waters. On the eastern side of the bay is Carradale Point where the Scottish Wildlife Trust has a nature reserve with feral goats and a vitrified fort built more than 2000 years ago on a small tidal island off the headland.
There are several pleasant walks laid out in the woods around Carradale and the village also boasts a 9-hole golf course and salmon and trout can be fished on the Carradale River in the summer months.
If you don't want to use your car while you are here, there are miles of quiet forest track accessed directly from the cottage door where you can spend your days on long walks exploring the peaceful corners of the countryside.
There are several places to eat in Carradale and further afield serving stunning seafood and scrumptious cakes.
